4-7-8 Breath for Kids

Three small breaths can change everything

Many times you don’t know what to do to help your kids when they feel anxious, upset, and frustrated. It can be heart breaking as a parent. Find a “quiet” place and try this out!

Sometimes it may be difficult to find a completely quiet place to do this but try to remove any extra noise or stimulation.

Inhale, Pause, and Exhale

  • Inhale for 4 counts

  • Pause for 7 counts

  • Exhale for 8 counts

Repeat three times while counting and then let them take a few breaths on their own.

4-7-8 breath will reduce the heart rate and respiratory rate within minutes.

Perfect for kids and adults of all ages when feeling overwhelmed. You can even modify to 4-4-4 breath if its easier to remember for the kiddos.

Breath is available to everyone and can be done anywhere.
